This commercial is hardly a commercial: it doesn’t want you to buy anything.
It rather reflects upon the many meanings of the —arguably— untranslatable ‘Huevón’, and while at it, reflects on the meaning of what it is to be a Chilean. Or what isn’t, for that matter.
Originally commissioned by a client we do not need to disclose, once ready, it was clear it wouldn’t ever be broadcast. That was three years ago.
Este comercial difícilmente es un comercial: No te vende nada.
Más bien, reflexiona en torno a los múltiples significados del —posiblemente— intraducible ‘huevón’, y de paso, desentraña el significado de qué es ser chileno. O qué no lo es, al menos.
Originalmente encargado para un cliente que no hay necesidad de revelar, una vez que estuvo listo, quedaba clarísimo que jamás saldría al aire. Eso fue tres años atrás.
